Our B.F.A. and B.A. programs are designed with both flexibility and rigor in order to allow students the opportunity to find the best way to express themselves creatively. There is no portfolio requirement to enter into our programs, but students pursuing our degrees must pass several reviews before graduation.
B.F.A. and B.A. Review Guidelines
B.F.A. in Art
The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree is geared toward students wishing to become professional studio artists. 72 credits of this program are comprised of art and art history courses. The remaining 48 credits are comprised of the university-wide general education program. After completing the art foundations curriculum, students choosing this program have the opportunity to take a selection of introductory studio courses in a wide range of disciplines, and will eventually focus on a one or two disciplines. Students choosing to concentrate in Graphic Design have just as much selection at the introductory level, but less flexibility at the intermediate and advanced levels.

B.A. in Art
The Bachelor of Arts degree is a liberal arts degree and is designed for students interested in other areas outside of art. 51 credits of this program are comprised of art and art history courses. 21 credits are free electives and allow students the opportunity to pursue a minor of their choosing from across the university. The remaining 48 credits are comprised of the university-wide general education program.
