University Physical Disability Permits
and State Handicapped Placards
Clarion University honors only a State Handicapped Placard or License Plate in designated handicapped spaces on campus to be in compliance with Pennsylvania parking regulations. To obtain a state placard, an application must be made with Penn Dot. Applications for state placards are available by visiting http://www.dot3.state.pa.us/registration/pwd_plate.shtml
The University issues Clarion University physically disabled permits which are valid in any parking space on campus, other than the state-designated handicapped spaces. With a University physically disabled permit, a student is permitted to park in an employee lot and vice versa. The university requires a physically disabled permit to be completed by a physician and to be returned to the Department of Public Safety. The cost for physically disabled permits is the same as for regular permits.

The fine for parking in a handicapped space without a valid state issued placard or disabled license plate is $30 per occurance.
