The Reference & Information Services Area Is Made Up Of:
The Reference Desk-
A reference librarian can point you toward appropriate resources for your research and can assist you, one-on-one, with various research databases and reference resources. See our LibAnswers page where you can find answers to reference questions and other questions about the Clarion University Libraries, as well as ways to contact us.
Reference Resources-
These sources provide researchers with brief, general information on a wide variety of topics. Reference resources include general and specialized encyclopedias, dictionaries, almanacs and handbooks, statistical references, etc.
On-line Periodical Indexes/Abstracts via the World Wide Web-
These databases help you locate relevant periodical articles on a topic. There is a wide variety of databases available corresponding to many different academic majors and fields of knowledge. You will find that in some databases, many articles are available full-text. This means that the entire article is available online for you to print, download, or e-mail to your account. When you find full-text articles of interest, you have instant access to them online. Reference librarians can assist you in utilizing these products.
