The Question Library houses questions for quizzes and surveys. By placing the questions in the Question Library, there is capability for random sections of questions. The layout of the Question Library is similar to that of the Add/Edit Question area in Quizzes.

Creating New Questions for the Question Library
1. Log into D2L and select the course you want to add questions to.
2. Click on “quizzes” under “assessments” in the navbar.
3. Select "Question Library" at the top of the page.

4. Using the Create New drop-down menu, select Section.

5. Name the section and click Save.

Note: You have the capability to upload a picture file and change settings to your preferences.
6. Click on the Section that you just created.

7. To create a new question, select the type of question you want (multiple choice, true/false, etc) from the drop-down menu, then click Go.

8. For this example, we will create a multiple choice question. Enter the point value, question text, answer choices, and weight (see image below). There are also feedback options on this page; these are optional. When you are finished creating your question, click Save or Save and New to create another question of the same type.

Note: To mark the correct answer, enter 100 in the weight column by the correct choice (You can also give partial credit by entering percentages in this column if desired).
Importing Pre-Existing Test Questions into the Question Library
1. Log into D2L and select the course you want to add questions to.
2. Click on Quizzes from the navbar under the drop down menu in the Assessments tab.
3. Select Question Library at the top of the page.

4. Using the "New" drop-down menu, select Section and click GO.

5. Name the section and click Save.

Note: You have the capability to upload a picture file and change settings to your preferences.
6. Click on the Section that you just created.

7. Click Import.

8. Select the quiz from source collection and choose the section of the quiz from the source section. Note: Many publishers provide test bank questions in the D2L format. See the publisher's website or talk to your account representative for more information.

Note: If you have no sections placed in your quiz, choose Collection Root.
Then, place a checkmark in front of the questions you want to import. If you want to import all the questions, just place a checkmark in front of the section. Click Save.

Note: You can import test questions into the Question Library using Respondus. This process is almost identical to uploading a quiz, just choose the option "Question Library" prior to uploading the questions.
