Mary Morgan Smith has been telling stories ever since she was tricked into it as a children's librarian in Maryland in the late 1970s. She has not stopped telling stories since, and does so at every opportunity. Mary was born and raised in the Pittsburgh area. She grew up in a family that treasured laughter, books (fairy tales being Mary's favorite) and family stories. Her stories take her listeners of all ages around the world and back in time. When she is not telling stories (and sometimes even when she is), Mary Morgan Smith produces the Three Rivers Storytelling Festival and manages the Children's/Young Adult Services Department at Northland Public Library outside Pittsburgh, Penna. This event is sponsored in conjunction with Phi Theta Kappa.
