MODES OF DISCOURSE
Taken: Fall semester of freshman year.
Faculty: Professor Jim Lyle and Dr. Ralph Leary
Course Description:
The primary goal of the Modes of Discourse class is community building. Through their creation of an active learning community, Modes not only provides a basis for interaction between students, but also for critical thinking. As a linked, interdisciplinary offering, this course is foundational to Honors curriculum. Modes satisfies the General Education requirement for ENG 111 and SCT 113 and also fulfills a values flag. The collaborative effort of these faculty members to the Honors community is an integral part of the Honors Program's success.
