Add Content

1. Click Add Content in the Create Event window.

2. Browse the modules of your course and select the content for the event.

3. In Create Event, notice that the name of the event is taken directly from the name of the content. Click the checkbox Use custom name to create a new name, enter a Description, select attendees and/or add groups if applicable, and specify a date/time.

Optional information:

  • Enter information about recurrence and restrictions.

  • Enter any useful URLs in the description or custom location field. They will appear as clickable links in the event details view.

Manage event recurrence and restrictions

Add an event recurrence

1. Click Add Recurrence in the When section.
2. Set your recurrence options for the event.

Add an event restriction

1. Click Add Restriction in the When section.
2. Set your restriction options for the event.

Add Availability Events from a Course

Add the course to the list of Calendars in the calendar management area. This automatically populates the Calendar tool with that course's events.

Note: You cannot launch a seating chart session or add presenters if you populate your calendar with events using this method.

Tip: If your events are not displaying, try the following:

1. In agenda view, click the context menu (small downward arrow) beside the event name.
2. Select Edit Event.

Check to see if its restrictions allow the event to be visible in the Calendar.

Change Default Event Duration

To change the default event duration of one half-hour, do the following:

1. Click Settings in the calendar views area.

2. Under Default Event Duration in Settings, use the drop-down menu to make your time selection. Click Save.

Add Calendars to Your Display

1. In the calendar management area, click the Add Calendar icon under Calendars.

2. On the Add Calendars page, select the courses and departments (and their corresponding events) that you want to display in the calendar content area.

Each course you add appears under Calendars in the calendar management area, with its own identifying color assigned by default.

Setting Your Current Calendar

You can switch your course by changing the current calendar. You switch the current calendar by clicking a course under Calendars in the calendar management area. Any event you create is created for the course in the current calendar position. This is especially useful for quick event creation for multiple courses. Because you can seamlessly move from one course to another, you can plan schedules for multiple courses, by day, week, or month.

Click a course name under Calendars in the calendar management area. This switches your mode in the Learning Suite to the course you selected.

Note: Even when you set your current calendar, the calendar content area will, by default, show events from all the courses listed under Calendars. To filter the view, clear the field by the course's name.

Remove a Calendar From Your Display

1. Click the context menu (the down arrow) for the course name in the calendar management area.

2. Select Remove Calendar.

Filter Calendar Events From Your Display

To hide a course's events from view in the calendar content area, clear the checkbox next to its name in the calendar management area.

Change Calendar Colors

1. Click the context menu (down arrow) for the course name in the calendar management area.

2. Select Change Calendar Color.

3. Click the desired calendar color. Lighten or darken the color by moving the arrow on the side of the color bar up and down.

Note: To help you meet visual accessibility standards, there is a built-in WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guideline) checker on the color selection page. Be aware that if you choose a shade that does not meet these guidelines (for example, the contrast between the text color and the background color is too low), the check mark by WCAG AA will be replaced by a warning or error icon to alert you to possible accessibility issues.

View a Course Schedule

1. Click the course name under Calendars in the calendar management area.

2. Click View Schedule.

Do one of the following:

  • Click on the event in the day, week, or month view to access a partial display of event details.

    • Click More... to see full event details in these views, including any content available for viewing.

  • Click the event in the List view to access full event details.
