Coordinates and participates in maintaining and enhancing process automation and network functionality. Design, Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair of process automation control systems, Automation Control Networks and process information networks; installs, programs, and maintains Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Distributive Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems, human machine interfaces (HMI) and related process automation and control systems; supports network communications and associated hardware. Provides troubleshooting support plant-wide; provides expertise to ensure understanding of process characteristics to all employees; provides strategic input in capacity planning; becomes integrally involved with expansion activities and future projects; and prioritizes all functions consistent with production requirements.

Title: Predictive Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Predictive Maintenance Supervisor

Description

The Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Technicians will work closely with Maintenance Department, and others to minimize equipment downtime and life cycle costs. They will use PdM technologies to identify equipment failures in early stages; thereby allowing maintenance to be performed on a scheduled basis. They will promote precision maintenance practices and use PdM technologies to evaluate the quality of repairs and installations.

Responsibilities

PdM Technicians are responsible and accountable for safely collecting, analyzing, and reporting on the general health of plant assets. Below is a list of duties they complete in order to achieve this goal:

Safely collect, analyze and report on the general health of the assets based on PdM date Ensure work activities are in compliance with all applicable OSHA safety regulations and policies.Perform, interpret data, and report on the following tasks:

- Vibration analysis inspections

- Tribology (oil analysis) inspections, including overseeing data collection, oil changes, bearing change, maintaining quality of lube inventory and ownership of lube storage.

- Infrared (thermal) inspections

- Ultrasonic testing including airborne, contact and thickness inspections

Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigationsAssist Engineering when implementing Reliability Centered Maintenance, (RCM) study findingsAssist craftsman during precision alignments and/or balancing tasksRecommending repairs based on PdM dataResearch and develop alternative methods and technologies for monitoring equipment Research and develop alternative methods maintaining equipmentCreate Work Orders and Purchase Orders in Maximo when a need for maintenance has been identifiedHave a passion for the PdM process, a willingness to go above and beyond what is considered good enoughPerform all other related duties as assigned
