OIL CITY, PA-Northwest Savings Bank has announced a donation of $30,000 over three years to Clarion University Foundation, Inc. for the School of Nursing and Allied Health Simulation Lab currently under construction at Venango College of Clarion University.
Northwest Savings Bank's support will enhance state-of-the-art simulation mannequins and provide new equipment for the School of Nursing and Allied Health Simulation Lab. The contribution will provide upgrades to equipment that will benefit the education of nurses, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, and medical imaging professionals at the Venango College.
"It is Northwest Savings Bank's great pleasure to make this contribution to Venango College, which is a vital educational institution in our region. As a regional bank we look for opportunities to support the communities in which we are present. It is a way of investing in our current customers, future customers and the educational community in the northwest region," said Ray Swacha, Vice President, Area Manager for Northwest Savings Bank.
The new nursing and allied health simulation lab is being constructed on the lower level of Montgomery Hall. The project will create a state-of-the-art simulation laboratory, which will be the only such facility located between Pittsburgh and Edinboro. The construction project includes a control room, de-briefing classroom, workrooms, and a technicians' office that will house simulation laboratory equipment including high-fidelity, life-size mannequins and high-tech medical apparatuses in a simulated intensive care unit.
"We thank Northwest Savings Bank and its colleagues for their generous support of the Nursing and Allied Health Simulation Lab. This gift will be most helpful to maintaining upgrades that are essential to the simulation lab and education of our students," said Dr. Chris Reber, Executive Dean of Venango College.
