Seven Clarion University students have been awarded the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties Fall 2013 Scholarship. Each will receive a $500 scholarship to use toward expenses for the fall semester.
Scholarships were given to the following students in six categories: Christina Liu of Shippenville, APSCUF, anthropology major; Bonnie Sue White of Waldorf, Md., graduate, master’s in library science; Brittany Hacker of Windsor, Ohio, senior, secondary education/English major; Jessica Gruver of Fairmount City, junior, molecular biology and biotechnology major; Erica Fries of Wexford, freshman/sophomore, early childhood education and special education major; John Owens of Nesquehoning, at-large I, finance and economics major; Emilee Gysegem of Warren, Ohio, at-large II, business management.
The seven recipients were chosen from 60 applications submitted by students throughout campus. The criteria used to select the recipients include a minimum QPA of a 3.2, participation and leadership in campus and community service organizations, and submission of a one-page narrative outlining goals and objectives for the future.
