B. Wiley Partnership Program
Harrisburg Partnership Program
Harrisburg Phase II
The Ben Wiley Partnership consists of two phases. Phase I is hosted by Bloomsburg University for three weeks and Phase II is hosted by Clarion University. During Phase II of the B. Wiley Partnership Program, Harrisburg high school seniors participate in a simulated college experience while taking such courses as Math, English, Science, Art and Computer Science.
For the duration of the three-week stay, the students reside in residence halls, utilize the cafeteria, and have access to campus facilities such as the recreation center, biology labs, and library.
In addition to the academic curriculum, the students participate in several co-curricular activities. Some of the co-curricular activities include daily meetings where exercises are offered to increase team-building, leadership and self-worth skills. In addition, each student is given a presentation by Clarion University admissions staff and has the opportunity to visit three other state schools for admissions information and campus tours. For entertainment, participants visit Cooks Forest for a day of waterslide, go-carting, mini-golf, and horseback riding. Another day is spent at Kennywood Amusement Park in Pittsburgh. On the final night of the program, participants enjoy a closing Recognition Banquet where they share their special talents with everyone in a Talent Show.
