It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Venango College of Clarion University, the oldest regional campus in Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education. Our mission is to serve the needs of Venango County and the surrounding region through quality programs and outstanding services in a highly personal and caring environment.
My colleagues and I are immensely proud of the history of Venango College. Community leaders advocated the creation of an educational institution in Oil City over 50 years ago and raised funding to establish the campus. Our facilities are named for some of those community pioneers and, today, the community continues its legacy of strong support for Venango College.
Venango College has more than doubled its enrollment in recent years due in large part to its growing network of educational partnerships with organizations in business, industry, health care, education, and other sectors. Enrollment now exceeds 1000 students.
Our partnerships allow us to meet the workforce needs of the region in a dynamic and highly flexible manner. To learn more about our extensive network of educational partnerships, please take a moment to read this brief overview, Educational Partnerships.
Venango College students attend full-time and part-time and include those who just finished high school and those who are returning to college after many years in the home or workplace. The college's programs and services are designed to meet a wide range of needs and are offered with the flexibility that is required for a diverse community of learners. Please let us know how we can help you.
Venango College offers a wide range of credit and non-credit programs, including associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, certificate programs, and continuing education courses and seminars that provide opportunities for personal enrichment and professional development. Further, students may begin any of Clarion University's four-year degree programs at Venango College. Most of our programs are nationally accredited.
Venango College is home to the university's School of Nursing and Allied Health, which includes the Department of Nursing and the Department of Allied Health, and the School of Humanities, Sciences and Technology, which includes the Department of Applied Technology and the Department of Humanities and Sciences. Venango College is experiencing growing enrollment and developing an expanding array of programs to address regional needs. Thanks to generous financial support from our community, Venango College also offers student apartment housing, enabling it to serve students from a wide geographic area.
Thank you for your interest in our very special academic community, and best wishes from the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Venango College!
