In her years as a student, McVay competed and won top awards at numerous Dance Master's of Pennsylvania competitions, danced beside a variety of professionals like Blake McGrath from So You Think You Can Dance and the movie "Chicago", and took master classes from renowned artists. She performed with the Cecchetti Ballet Company of Pennsylvania and the Tom Riley Musical Theater Company.
