The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science

Required courses in Political Science (30 credits)

  • PS 210: Introduction to Political Science 

  • PS 211: American Government

  • PS 311: Comparative Politics - OR - PS 352: International Politics

  • PS 365: Ancient & Medieval Political Thought - OR - PS 365: Modern Political Thought

  • 18 credits to be select from any remaining political science courses

 

Required Supplemental Courses (9 credits)

  • ECON 211: Principles of Macroeconomics

  • ECON 212: Principles of Microeconomics

  • SOC 211: Principles of Sociology

  • 12 credits to be selected from: Anthropology, economics (except ECON 211 or 212), history, psychology, and sociology.

    There is also a foreign language OR quantities skills requirement.

Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a 
Concentration in Criminal Justice

This concentration is ideal for students who have completed our A.S. Degree in Criminal Justice who wish to pursue a Bachelor's at Clarion University.

Required courses in Political Science (24 Credits)

PS 210:  Intro to Political Science

PS 211: American Government

18 credits to be selected from any remaining political science courses

Required courses in Criminal Justice  (15 Credits)

CRJT 110:  Intro to Criminal Justice

12 credits to be selected from any remaining criminal justice courses.  The following can be used to fulfill the requirements - Soc 235/CRJT 236: Criminology; PS 304/CRJT 304: Crime, Politics and Public Policy; PS 363/CRJT 363; Criminal Procedure; PHIL 328/CRJT 328; Ethics and Criminal Justice.  Additionally, the following courses can be used to fulfill the twelve credit hours:  BIOL 125: Intro to Forensic Science; PSY 370; Forensic Psychology.

There is also a foreign language OR quantitative skills requirement;
