Clarion University's 4,800 determined students are building a bright future through challenging academics and diverse interests, all while living in a town of 5,300 people who embrace them.
We prepare students in business, education, health, science and the arts with a small student-to-faculty ratio (17 to 1) and nationally and internationally accredited programs. There also are internship and study abroad opportunities to broaden one’s horizons.
Students embrace learning at our scenic Clarion campus, which has evolved since its seminary beginnings in 1867; at our growing Clarion University — Venango campus located in Oil City; and through Clarion Online, which offers education from the comfort of one's own home.
Students are able to take advantage of these exciting educational opportunities through financial aid. More than 80% of all undergraduate students enrolled in the Fall 2017-Spring 2018 terms received some form of financial aid.
In addition to more than 100 academic programs, Clarion University students also enjoy enriching personal lives. With more than 150 student organizations, including academic, athletic, intramural, Greek, political, multicultural, service and special interest groups, students become unique individuals and leaders at Clarion.
Through these academic and student life opportunities, our students interact with other students from 45 states and 10 countries. These are just a few of the numbers that tell the story of life at Clarion University. To get the whole picture, check out our Fast Facts.
Students live in police-patrolled housing with on-campus parking. Some of this housing is on campus while other options are nearby in university-affiliated apartments.
Clarion University also boasts its own movie theater, CU Movies on Main, located in Suites on Main North along Main Street. The 188-person theatre offers second-run movies and concessions at reasonable prices. The movie theater is student operated and provides employment opportunities for Clarion University students, giving them experience in the areas of management, marketing and customer service.
Main Street, lined with specialty shops and locally owned restaurants, is located just steps away from our Clarion campus, allowing students to be an integral part of the community. Bus transportation is available to the Exit 62 business district off of Interstate 80, which has the Clarion Mall, restaurants and a movie theater.
Upon graduation, students will join 57,366 alumni worldwide who have soared to success in their chosen fields.
