Interview Preparation Assistance

Practice interviews (also known as mock interviews) are designed to simulate a real interview experience.  Options for practice interviews include in person, by telephone, via Zoom, in classroom and group settings, and online. In-person and online sessions can be recorded. Feedback and suggestions for improvement are provided.

Big Interview
When preparing for a job interview, it's not enough to just read advice — you need to put that advice into practice! Big Interview is a new system that allows you to research interview questions, record an interview, and then watch your own answers. Get hands-on practice with mock interviews tailored to your specific industry, job, and experience level.

Student CUCareerWear Closet

Do you have an interview coming up and nothing to wear? Will you be attending a career event and need a tie or dress pants? We know that a proper professional attire can be a game-changer when interviewing, attending networking events/career fairs or going into the field for your major. Be confident in your look and find the appropriate wear for your major at the CUCareerWear Closet.

  • Gently used professional attire is free. The clothing is yours to keep!
  • Limit of 3 items per student per visit.
  • Do we have what you need? Complete this CUCareerWear Closet Interest Form.
  • Clothing Closet selection visits are by appointment only via Handshake.

Clothing can be selected for a job search or a professional career experience event or function:

  • Job or Internship Interview
  • Career Fair
  • Business/Professional Networking event
  • Professional Development Conference
  • Classroom or organization presentation
  • Field experience, observation or job shadow

Clothing may NOT be taken for non-classroom or career experience events such as:

  • Club/Organization Formal or Dance
  • Wedding or funeral

Calling all Faculty/Staff/Alumni - Support the CUCareerWear Clothing Closet

Do you have professional clothes in your closet you no longer wear? Suits and any other professional apparel and accessories can be donated. Think coordinated, conservative, contemporary, and interview-appropriate. All clothing must be freshly laundered or dry-cleaned. To be sure that suits or accessories you're considering donating are appropriate and that there is a need for your items, please complete this Donation Form and we will respond to you.

What to donate
Clean, new, or gently-used business professional or business casual items for men and women:

  • Suits (pants and skirt)
  • Dress shirts/Blouses/ Oxford shirts
  • Blazers/Jackets
  • Dress slacks/Khakis
  • Ties/Scarves
  • Polo shirts (no logos)
  • Dresses/Skirts
  • Dress shoes
  • Belts

What not to donate
Due to storage limitations, we can't accept:

  • Sportswear or casual clothing (sweats, t-shirts, sneakers, etc.)
  • Party or Evening wear
  • Socks and nylons
  • Jewelry

Tax-deductible donation forms are not available at this time but is being explored.
