Nursing honorary earns excellence award
Clarion University's Mu XI Chapter of Sigma Global Nursing Excellence, the international honor society of nursing, has earned the Showcase of Regional Excellence Award.
The award is designed to recognize the good work of chapters in relation to Sigma's presidential call to action in the area of "collaborate." The Collaborate Award signifies a professional service project that Mu XI completed last year. The chapter, in collaboration with the Emergency Nurses Association of Pennsylvania, state senate and state representatives, and the Clarion community, presented a conference, "Communities in Crisis: PA'S Opioid Epidemic."
This award also notes the achievement of one of the Sustainable Development Goals of Global Good Health and Well-Being.
Clarion University Nursing Department Chair and Nurse Administrator Deborah J. Kelly, DNP, RN, CHPCA, received a 2018 Cameos of Caring® Award in the category of nurse educator Saturday, Dec. 1, at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.
