Clarion University Chamber Singers: Performing from Pennsylvania to Wales and Beyond

May 11, 2016

Over the past few months, Clarion’s Chamber Singers have held many community concert performances at schools and churches throughout western Pennsylvania in preparation for their participation in the 2016 Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod from July 6 to 9 in Llangollen, Wales.

The Chamber Singers have also been invited by the Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts (ARCA) in Foxburg to perform at Lincoln Hall on Sunday, June 26.

Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts provides an annual series of concerts and events, including classical music recitals, chamber music, jazz, popular and Celtic music; Wurlitzer Theatre Organ concerts; cabaret; dance; drama; literature; film and visual arts.

“The invitation to perform for ARCA is quite an honor for our students,” says Dr. Stephen Johnson, Chamber Singers director at Clarion University.

“The opportunity to meet and work with people who have been involved with some of the most prestigious symphonic and philharmonic programs in the country is a wonderful opportunity for all of us, and we truly appreciate their interest and their desire to promote our European tour.”

With receptions held after each performance, the students have many opportunities to network with Clarion alumni and the community beyond Clarion University.

The Chamber Singers plan to keep everyone updated about the events leading up to their trip, as well as take you along during their journey from country to country, performance to performance on social media.
