GANT Media LLC publishes gantdaily.com, which is the area’s first and only complete online local news service. With the business model based on a complete web platform, a synergy between technology and interactive online elements has been developed that links local communities to topics with which they are passionate. Serving Clearfield County, the interactive site provides an in-depth focus on local news, business, and industry; that appeals to a large, educated audience.

The site also connects consumers and businesses by providing “beyond print” opportunities for interaction and information. With a strong focus on local business news, gantdaily.com uncovers resonant stories that send users to the site on a daily basis.

Mrs. Christene Dahlem started GANT Media LLC in 2006. The company was initially operated with three employees but now has grown to seven employees and 15 subcontractors.

Ms. Dahlem decided to start the business because she saw a need in the community. Current news sources were stuck in traditional operations and were not adapting to changes in technology so there was a need to report and deliver more timely news.

In 2006, GANT was only the second web-based newspaper in the entire state of Pennsylvania. Traditional newspapers feared the web would cannibalize their print subscriptions so their websites were pretty much non-existent. Keeping up with changes in technology and applying them to GANT in a way that readers will embrace it is still the company’s biggest challenge today.

GANT Media LLC is currently located at 219 South 2nd Street in Clearfield, Pennsylvania.

The readership of GANT Daily has consistently grown. Each month there are over 200,000 visitors to the news website. In 2015, the company realized sales of approximately $180,000.

I credit Corry Riley and the SBDC highly for helping me launch my business.  There are many distractions to important details when you are trying to start a business.  Corry continually reviewed my business plan with me, which kept me focused and on tract.  It was the support I needed."
