Winter 2021 Commencement

FAQ

1.     Will masking be required for winter commencement?

Due to the rapidly evolving COVID-19 conditions around the country and in Pennsylvania, Clarion University will require all students, faculty, staff and visitors — including those who are vaccinated and unvaccinated — to wear masks indoors while inside campus buildings during commencement weekend, including in the Marwick Boyd Auditorium during the commencement ceremony.

2.     Where do I get my cap and gown?

At Clarion University academic regalia for students is provided by Jostens and available through the University Book Store.

3.    Will livestreaming be available?

Yes, commencement will be livestreamed, so friends and loved ones who are not able to attend may watch their graduate's ceremony at a time and date that is convenient to them. The link will be emailed to graduates the week prior graduation and also available on our commencement webpage.

4 .    Will graduate students be hooded at the in-person ceremony?

Graduates are asked to wear their academic hoods to process.  No hooding will take place during the ceremony.

5.     Can I request additional tickets?

All graduates who register to attend will be allocated no more than five guest tickets.

  • Graduates do not need tickets for themselves
  • There is no replacement of lost or stolen tickets
  • Guests will not be admitted without a ticket

6.     How long will the ceremony last?

The estimated time for the ceremony will be approximately 2 hours in length.

7.     Will a professional photographer be on-site for graduate photos?

Yes. The university contracts with GradImages Photography who will be set-up to take graduate photos during the ceremony.  Following the ceremony, graduates will be contact via Eagle email on how to purchase the photos.
