The Black’s were referred to the Clarion University SBDC by the Armstrong County IDC. They needed assistance in taking the necessary steps to start a business. The SBDC worked with Mr. and Mrs. Black to develop a business plan, including three-year financial projections, to present to potential lenders. The plan included the mission of the company as well as service descriptions, market analysis, competitor analysis, and an overview of operations. In addition, the SBDC also assisted Mr. and Mrs. Black with marketing assistance to promote their new business, specifically with a website. In addition to the SBDC, the Black’s received assistance from the Armstrong County IDC for preliminary financial assistance and permitting and licensing assistance. The IDC also coordinated assistance with Senator Don White’s office.
