The Department of Communication helps students obtain internships with some of the most highly regarded organizations in the industry. Our faculty focus on preparing students for real-world situations they will face in their careers. We prepare our students in a way that allows them to succeed early in their careers and sets them up for success throughout their lifetimes.
Internships provide students with the opportunity to apply their abilities to an actual on-the-job-setting. Internship responsibilities and durations range according to the student's educational objectives and needs. Internships are available in a wide variety of job areas in all facets of communication, including civic and governmental operation.
Students must be of junior or senior standing with an overall GPA of 2.5 and 3.0 in their respective major. A list of available internships may be obtained through the departmental office. Students can do more than one internship and are also encouraged to intern in multiple areas in the field of communication. Moreover, students can do internships prior to the junior year not-for-credit.
