The Geography program seeks to develop and expand student understanding of the human and natural worlds and the complex interactions between them. In an increasingly interconnected globe a commitment to expanding such understanding serves students well in challenging careers and in their roles as citizens. In addition, imparting necessary technical skills is a critical goal as is imparting the habit of continuous development of technical skills as that demand shifts and evolves.
Additionally, a strong Departmental effort centers on geographic techniques such as Geographic Information Science (GIS) and Remote Sensing. GIS and Remote Sensing skills are highly sought through many sectors of the marketplace as well as being key components of all of the academic disciplines housed within the AGES Department.
