Welcome to the College of Arts & Sciences

The College of Arts and Sciences is uniquely situated at the center of the Clarion experience.

The college features more than 40 undergraduate and graduate degree programs across numerous departments, centers and programs. As such, it houses many of the courses which give students a comprehensive education and with it the skills needed for a satisfying career and an impactful life.

The college seeks to:

  • Deliver a high quality integrative education experience designed to stimulate the intellectual development of all university students;
  • Prepare students for employment within their chosen field with knowledge, skills, dispositions and competencies;
  • Improve the quality of life for society through research, service to the university and surrounding communities as well as meeting the cultural and intellectual needs of the region.

Through its significant support of the Integrative Studies curriculum, the college develops skills like creativity, writing, quantitative reasoning, teamwork, collaboration, and adaptability, all of which are highly prized by employers and graduate schools.

 Our dedicated faculty and staff guide students to success with innovative research and cutting-edge technology. They also create an enthusiasm for learning because they are active in their fields of expertise with ongoing research, recent discoveries, authorship and performances. Seeing faculty and staff excel in their respective fields lets students know that their dreams are obtainable.

To further our mission, we embed several high-impact education practices into the academic experience -- including service learning opportunities, study abroad, and internships, among others -- to engage students in a variety of ways.

In addition to high-quality academic programs, the college sponsors many events that are open to the community, including conferences, concerts, theatrical productions, exhibitions, science fairs, lectures, symposia and workshops.

The college's impact hasn't gone unnoticed as some of its programs have garnered top rankings.
