Clarion University's Associate of Science in Allied Health degree enables allied health professionals to get started on the road to career advancement. The coursework required for this degree may be completed online. Clarion University recognizes the value of an allied health professional's clinical education and acquired professional expertise and therefore awards credit for completion of a formal, accredited educational program in an allied health field. This program is offered only at the Pittsburgh West-Penn campus.

A.S. Allied Health: Allied Health Concentration

Clarion University's Associate of Science in allied health degree enables allied health professionals to get started on the road to career advancement. The coursework required for this degree may be completed online. Clarion University recognizes the value of an allied health professional's clinical education and acquired professional expertise and therefore awards credit for completion of a formal, accredited educational program in an allied health field. The 30-credit allied health concentration within the AS AH degree was created to expand the option to earn an associate degree beyond nurses to students who have completed formal, accredited educational programs in allied health fields such as medical lab technology, paramedic technology, medical assisting, ultrasonography, and others. In the AS AH Allied Health concentration, individuals credentialed in the aforementioned fields complete 30 additional credits in general education and are awarded 30 credits for their clinical training. The allied health concentration differentiates these allied health students from those with a background in nursing. Graduates are positioned to pursue bachelor’s degrees that will facilitate even greater opportunities for career advancement. This program is offered only online.

A.S. Respiratory Care

Clarion University's Associate of Science in respiratory care program prepares students to be registered respiratory therapists. Respiratory care practitioners (respiratory therapists) evaluate and care for individuals who have breathing and other cardiopulmonary ailments ranging from moderate to life-threatening. Respiratory care practitioners work closely with other health care professionals to provide a wide range of diagnostic and therapy to patients. The respiratory care program is offered only at the Venango campus.

B.S. Allied Health Leadership

The Bachelor of Science in allied health leadership degree is geared toward those who wish to become health care managers. The online degree also allows graduates to assume roles in health services management, health care education and medical sales. Demand for health care managers is expected to increase nationally during the next few years. The B.S. in allied health leadership is a bachelor’s degree completion program for individuals who are credentialed health care professionals and who have earned an associate degree. The program is also appropriate for those who are credentialed health care professionals and who have completed accredited certificate or diploma programs in allied health fields. The School of Health Sciences must approve student eligibility for the B.S. allied health leadership program. Online course work accommodates the busy lives of students who are balancing work and family obligations. This program is offered only online.
