Steps Toward Admission

FRESHMAN


High School Seniors & First Time Students

  1. Complete the Undergraduate Online Application  or printable application
  2. Send your official high school transcript, or GED, SAT/ACT scores to:

    Clarion, PA 16214
  3. Clarion University is now reviewing applications under a test-optional policy. For more details on the test-optional policy, view the First Year Requirements page for GPA information, as well as admissions requirements for specific majors.
  4. Pay the online application fee. $35 with a credit card online.

Transfer


Transferring & Community College Students

  1. Complete the Undergraduate Online Application or printable application
  2. Send ALL previous college transcripts,  official high school transcript or GED* to:

    Office of Admissions

    Clarion, PA 16214
  3. Pay the online application fee. $35 with a credit card online.

*High school transcripts or GED required for those who have fewer then 15 transferable credits and/or are applicants for the ASN or BSN.

Master’s and Doctoral Degree Students

  1. Complete the Graduate Online Application
  2. Send your application portfolio with all supporting documentation to:

  3. Pay the online application fee. $40 with a credit card online.

International Students- Freshman

  1. Complete the Online Application for Undergraduate.

    The application for admission and all supporting documents must be received no later than the date indicated for the corresponding semester.

    • Fall semester (historically begins in late August) – July 15
    • Spring semester (historically begins in mid-January) – November 15
  2. Requirement of foreign educational credential evaluation services -

    • While we encourage all international students to submit transcripts using World Education Services or another member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services foreign educational credential evaluation services, students from the following countries are required to submit their transcripts through this service: 
      • Cameroon
      • Gambia
      • Ghana
      • Haiti
      • Kenya
      • Liberia
      • Nigeria
      • Togo

    Before you apply, please note that some services do charge a fee in order to process your information, and we recommend that you begin the process as soon as possible to ensure that your materials can be received, evaluated, and forwarded to Clarion University in a timely manner. Our university cannot forward any transcripts to these providers, so please make sure you follow the appropriate protocol in order to expedite your application in the most cost-efficient way possible.

  3. All non-native English speakers must submit an official English proficiency test score - TOEFL, IELTS, DuoLingo, University of Cambridge ESOL Exam or SAT/ACT
  4. Submit official, English-translated copies of all secondary school transcripts
  5. Submit a copy of your passport- copy of the picture page
  6. Pay the online application fee with a credit card online

International Students - Transfer


  1. Complete the Online Application for either Undergraduate or Graduate.

    The application for admission and all supporting documents must be received no later than the date indicated for the corresponding semester.
