Melissa Gearing and Clay Nolan reign today as Clarion University's 2009 Homecoming Queen and King. They were announced as the homecoming royalty during a pep rally, Oct. 1 in Tippin Gymnasium.

Melissa Gearing, a senior elementary education major, is a daughter of Joe and Kathy Gearing of Latrobe and is a graduate of Derry High School. She is sponsored by Deltz Zeta Sorority.

Clay Nolan, a senior elementary education major, is a son of Brian and Janet Nolan of Shinglehouse and is a graduate of Oswayo Valley High School. He is sponsored by Delta Zeta Sorority.

The Clarion University students vote for the 18 homecoming court members, six seniors, four juniors, four sophomores, and four freshman. Only the seniors are eligible to be queen and king.

The entire court rides in the Autumn Leaf Festival Parade, Saturday, Oct. 3. They are presented at halftime of the football game against Gannon.

The following students complete the Homecoming court:

Caitlin Jones, a senior English major/Spanish minor, is a daughter of Mark and Kathleen Jones of Latrobe and is a graduate of Derry High School. She is sponsored by Clarion University students.

Heather Puhalla, a senior management and human resources dual major, is a daughter of James and Melinda Puhalla of Aliquippa, and is a graduate of Center High School. She is sponsored by Clarion University Student Senate.

Autumn Hall, a junior environmental biology major, is a daughter of Jackie Hall of Pulaski and is a graduate of Wilmington High School. She is sponsored by the Biology Club.

Deanne Khazraie, a junior elementary education/special education major, is a daughter of Donna Rizzo of Crescent Township and is a graduate of Moon High School. She is sponsored by Student PSEA.

Holly Davis, a sophomore environmental biology major, is a daughter of Shawn and Gretchen Davis of Butler and is a graduate of Knoch High School. She is sponsored by Clarion University students.

Erin Stovich, a sophomore environmental biology major, is a daughter of Mark and Joenna Stovich of Canonsburg and is a graduate of Canon-McMillan High School. She is sponsored by the Hip Hop Dance Team.

Samantha Raymond, a freshman arts and sciences major, is a daughter of Ed and Lisa Raymond of Goshen, Kent., and is a graduate of Christian Academy of Louisville. She is sponsored by the women's soccer team.

Gilah Salas, a freshman business management major, is a daughter of Marshall and Cecile Salas of Shippenville and is a graduate of Clarion High School. She is sponsored by Clarion University students.

Craig Butler, a senior elementary education major, is a son of James and Ann Butler of Frenchville and is a graduate of Clearfield High School. He is sponsored by Sigma Phi Epsilon Sorority.

Kyle McMunn, a senior chemistry/pre-pharmacy major, is a son of David and Diane McMunn of Knox and is a graduate of Keystone High School. He is sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.

Lyle Clark, a junior rehabilitative science major, is a son of Russell and Denise Clark of Vandergrift, and is a graduate of Kiski Area High School. He is sponsored by Rehabilitation Science Club.

Luke Hampton, a junior communication major, is a son of Dale and Hope Hampton of Indiana and is a graduate of United High School. He is sponsored by Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

Dharm Patel, a sophomore biology/pre-medicine major, is a son of Deep Patel of York and is a graduate of William Penn High School. He is sponsored by Clarion University students.

Ross Harter, a sophomore secondary education/mathematics major, is a son of Robert and Denise Harter of Wernersville and is a graduate of Conrad Weiser High School. He is sponsored by Delta Zeta Sorority.

Joe Ward, a freshman political science/business major, is a son of Joe and Brenda Ward of Johnstown and is a graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School. He is sponsored by Delta Zeta Sorority.

Jordan Williams, a freshman biology major, is a son of David and Sharon Williams of Warren and is a graduate of Warren High School. He is sponsored by Clarion University Students.
