Early childhood education program ranks among nation's best

Study.com ranked Clarion University 36th after "the Study.com team looked at information like programs offered, extracurricular activities available, and data from the US Department of Education," as stated on its website. "Study.com's rankings are unique in that they emphasize accessibility, affordability, and quality of education, which we considered the most important attributes in our ranking lists."

Students can choose from a variety of programs, including an online Associate of Science in early childhood education a Bachelor of Science in Education in early childhood and special education, and an early childhood education minor.

Clarion University of Pennsylvania's online early childhood associate degree program is an excellent way to earn a degree in early childhood education while working full time. The program is designed to prepare early childhood professionals for entry-level positions through construction of knowledge, skills and dispositions related to child development and the importance of early care and education.

The B.S. in Education in early childhood (pre-K through Grade 4) program is offered in a sequential format. Early childhood candidates are inducted into the education core, proceed with a series of pre-methods courses, and engage in a sequence of field experiences that begin in the first semester of the program.

The early childhood education minor consists of six courses focused on gaining skills and education needed to interact effectively with young children and families in a variety of settings. Ethical conduct, culturally responsive teaching, and community advocacy are dispositions woven throughout the minor courses.
