The Society of Physics Students is a professional physics association explicitly designed for students. Membership, through collegiate chapters, is open to anyone interested in physics.

The SPS Chapter at Clarion University has more than 20 members, and a faculty advisor. The chapter is funded through the Student Activities Funds from the university.

The SPS Chapter organizes social events and provides opportunities for students to attend scientific meetings and visit research laboratories and other interesting areas. Past events included field trips to Fermilab in Chicago and presentations at the Western Pennsylvania Section Meeting of the American Association of Physics Teachers in Latrobe, Pa.
