Athletic Training

Students who have a love of sports may wish to take their passion for sports to the next level with degrees in sport management in which the business side of sports is emphasized. These types of degrees enable graduates to work with sports and recreation organizations for their success and the betterment of the communities where these organizations are located.

Undergraduate

B.S. Nutrition and Fitness/Pre Athletic Training

Undergraduate students interested in obtaining a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training and sitting for the NATA Board of Certification Examination (BOC) may choose to complete the 3+2 option. Students will earn both an undergraduate and graduate degree in a five-year period. Clarion’s Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Fitness is an example of an undergraduate degree program that presents a viable option and seamless articulation with the Master of Science in Athletic Training. Entrance to the two-year master’s program will be granted to individuals who meet all of Clarion University’s requirements for graduate admission including: 1.) Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum QPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0); 2.) Submit three letters of recommendation and an essay related to athletic training; 3.) Complete a successful interview with Clarion’s athletic training faculty; and 4.) Satisfy all prerequisite course requirements of the proposed program. This program is offered only at Clarion campus.
