Early Acceptance Programs

The Early Acceptance Program is designed for students wishing to secure a seat in a medical, dental, pharmacy, or chiropractic programs after their time at Clarion University. These EAPs are geared for academically high-achieving students, who know what they want regarding their careers and training. In other words, if the student is in a particular pre-professional program at Clarion and accepted into the EAP, that student has a guaranteed reserved a seat in their respective professional program at LECOM (medical, dental, or pharmacy) or Logan (chiropractic) when they leave Clarion University.

The typical student is either a prospective Clarion student (high school senior) or a current Clarion underclass person (freshman or sophomore). These high achieving students have demonstrated their strong academic potential on their high school and/or Clarion GPA as well as on a standardized exam (SAT or ACT). Each EAP has a slightly different set of entrance requirements. Please see below for the program of interest and their stated criteria.

While most students in the EAP complete four years at Clarion University, there are some versions of the program that allow students to take an accelerated pathway. In the case of the chiropractic, pharmacy, and medical EAP, the student have the option to do three years at Clarion University and then matriculate into their respective program. This can save a year of time in overall training as well as tuition. Please see below for the details related to the different "3+" Early Acceptance Programs.

For the LECOM medical and pharmacy program, if the applicants GPA and SAT/ACT scores are sufficient, they will not have to take the MCAT or PCAT as part of their entry into LECOM University. Those accepted into the Logan EAP are not required to take the GRE.

Given the ability of the various early acceptance programs to allow students to apply as early as their sophomore level or earlier, the focus of the application is based on GPA and one standardized exam, and the possibility of not having to take a stressful and expensive aptitude exam (GRE, MCAT, or PCAT). These EAP programs are excellent pathways to acceptance in various competitive and rigorous professional schools.
