Soldiers Creed
I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team. I
serve the people of the United States and
live the Army Values.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally
tough, trained and proficient in my warrior
tasks and drills. I always maintain my
arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and
destroy the enemies of the United States
of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the
American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.
The Cadet Creed
I am an Army Cadet. Soon I will take an
oath and become an Army Officer
committed to defending the values which
make this nation great. Honor is my
touchstone. I understand mission first and people always.

I am the past - the spirit of those warriors
who have made the final sacrifice.
I am the present - the scholor and
apprentice soldier enhancing my skills in the
science of warfare and the art of leadership.
But above all, I am the future - the future
warror leader of the United States Army.
May God give me the compassion and
judgement to lead and the gallantry in battle
to win.
I will do my duty.
The Army Values
Loyalty: Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. Constitution, the Army, your unit,
and other soldiers.
Duty: Fulfill your obligations.
Respect: Treat people as they should be treated.
Selfless Service: Put the welfare of the nation, the Army, and your subordinates before
your own.
Honor: Live up to all the Army values.
Integrity: Do what's right, legally and morally.
Personal Courage: Face fear, danger, or adversity (Physical or Moral).
General Orders
1. I will guard everything within the limits of my post and quit my post only when
properly relieved.
2. I will obey my special orders and perform all of my duties in a military manner.
3. I will report all violations of my special orders, emergencies, and anything not
covered in my instructions to the commander of my relief.
Code of Conduct
I. I am an American, fighting in the forces that guard my country and our way of life.
I am prepared to give my life in their defense.
II. I will never surrender of my own free will. If in command, I will never surrender
the members of my command while they still have the means to resist.
III. If I am captured I will continue to resist by all means available. I will make
every effort to escape and aid others to escape. I will accept neither parole nor
special favors from the enemy.
IV. If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will
give no information or take part in any action that might be harmful to my comrades.
If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those
appointed over me and will back them up in every way.
V. When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name,
rank, service number and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to
the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statement disloyal to my
country and its allies or harmful to their cause.
VI. I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for
my actions, and dedicated to the principles, which made my country free. I will trust
in my God and in the United States of America.
