The Office of Marketing and Communication is part of the Division for University Advancement and communicates the official position of the university and advances its image.
The office assists in:
- community and governmental relations
- emergency communications
- general public relations
News
All official university news releases are issued through the Office of Marketing and Communication for distribution to media, as well as placement on the Clarion University website and the electronic campus newsletter. All official news items are on the Clarion University News page. As part of alumni relations the staff within this office write, edit and produce the Clarion University Magazine.

Marketing
The Office of Marketing and Communication develops the university's short- and long-term marketing plans to support student recruitment/enrollment management and philanthropy efforts.
Brand Marketing
The staff works with the campus community and beyond to safeguard the university's brand.
A brand is the idea or image of a specific product or service with which consumers connect, by identifying the name, logo, slogan or design of the company or institution that owns the idea or image. The brand is used as part of all official publications (print and electronic), as well as website and social media. The Clarion University website empowers academic departments to more easily update their website content while staying within the university brand.

Companies wishing to produce merchandise bearing the official Clarion University trademark must meet licensing requirements by CLC. Contact licensing@clc.com with questions.
