SPED PK-12 CERTIFICATION TRACK:

This track will prepare you to become a successful special education teacher in all grades PK-12 (or ages birth—21).

The program not only meets but exceeds PA state guidelines for certification and will fully prepare you to sit for the SPED PK-12 licensure exam.

In this role, you will be able to influence the learning and achievement of all students including those who have intellectual or physical disabilities.

You will be prepared to accelerate academic learning, modify challenging behaviors, meet physical and intellectual needs impact social and emotional learning.

SPED PK-12 NON-CERTIFICATION TRACK:

So you answered "yes!" to the questions above, but you aren't really sure you want to be a classroom teacher?

That's ok! There are other options!

This track will generally prepare you to work with people with a wide range of disabilities in a variety of settings. Particularly, following this program of study will give you the option of becoming a Registered Behavior Technician or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst or other professional working in a school or community agency setting. This program will give you a solid base in:

  • Recognizing and identifying a wide range of conditions
  • Modifying challenging behaviors
  • Meeting physical and intellectual needs

Double Down on your Degree:

Our Accelerated Bachelor’s to Master’s programs allow you to start on your advanced degree as you complete your undergraduate degree. By taking some graduate level courses during your undergraduate years, you can accelerate along the path to more degrees, more certifications, and more employment opportunities.
